Trade forex, indices, commodities and stocks (CFDs)
Trade forex, indices, gold and stocks as CFDs on the Trade page. You follow the price without owning the asset. CFDs are high risk.
On Trade Llama, traditional markets (forex like EUR/USD, indices like NAS100, commodities like gold (XAU) and stocks) are offered as CFDs in the Trade terminal. A CFD lets you trade on the price without owning the underlying asset.
What a CFD is
A CFD (contract for difference) settles the difference in an asset's price between when you open a position and when you close it. If you go long and the price rises, you gain the difference; if it falls, you lose it. Going short works the other way round. Because you never own the asset, you get no shareholder rights such as voting.
Leverage and liquidation
CFDs are often traded with leverage: you put up margin smaller than the position's full value, which magnifies gains and losses alike. If losses use up your margin, the position can be closed automatically. Margin, leverage and liquidation explains how this works. Before you trade, read the details in the order form, including the estimated fee.
Markets you can trade
- Forex: currency pairs such as EUR/USD. See the Forex tab on Markets.
- Indices: such as NAS100.
- Commodities: such as gold (XAU).
- Stocks: company shares, traded as CFDs.
Browse them all on the CFD tab. Unlike crypto, traditional markets keep opening hours, and prices can jump when a market reopens.
