Trading bots such as spot grid, futures grid and spot Martingale aren't available on Trade Llama yet. What they do and what to use instead.
Trading bots aren't available on Trade Llama yet, including spot grid, futures grid and spot Martingale bots. The trading bots page is a preview that says so, and you can't start a bot from it.
What trading bots do
On platforms that offer them, a trading bot places orders for you automatically, following rules you set in advance. These are the common types.
Spot grid
A grid bot splits a price range you choose into levels, with buy orders below the current price and sell orders above it. As the price moves up and down inside the range, it buys lower and sells higher. If the price leaves the range, those small profits stop, and you may be left holding a coin that has fallen in value.
Futures grid
The same idea applied to futures contracts, usually with leverage and the choice of running it long or short. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses, and a strong move against the grid can lead to liquidation.
Spot Martingale
A Martingale bot buys a coin, then buys more, often in larger amounts, each time the price falls by a set step. That lowers its average entry price, and it sells once the price recovers to a profit target. In a long decline it keeps buying and can tie up a lot of your funds at a loss.
Build a simple strategy by hand
You can get close to a basic grid with limit orders in the spot terminal:
- Open the spot terminal and choose a pair, for example BTC/USDT.
- Choose a limit order and set a buy price below the current price.
- Place a few more buy limit orders at different prices if you want to spread your entries.
- Once you hold the coin, place sell limit orders at the prices where you'd take profit.
- Review your orders regularly. Prices move, and an order you placed earlier may no longer suit you.
Each order's estimated fee is shown in the order form before you place it, which is worth checking when you place many small orders. See the fee schedule and Order types: market and limit.
Other options
- Watch prices and movers on the Markets page.
- Trade futures yourself in the futures terminal; read Margin, leverage and liquidation first.
- API trading isn't offered, so you can't connect your own bot. See Products Trade Llama doesn't offer yet.
