AML & KYC policy

How Trade Llama verifies its clients and prevents money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud.

1. Purpose and scope

Trade Llama LTD is registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (Registration #1849203). This policy explains how we identify our clients and keep our services from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or fraud. It applies to every client, account and payment.

2. A risk-based approach

The checks we make depend on the risk: the amounts involved, where a client lives, the products used and how the account is used. Higher risk means more checks.

3. Verifying your identity

Before your first withdrawal we ask for:

  • a valid identity document: passport, national identity card or driving licence;
  • a proof of address issued within the last 3 months, such as a utility bill or bank statement;
  • a selfie holding your identity document.

You upload them on the Identity verification page and our team reviews them. The name, date of birth and address must match your account. Until your identity is verified, withdrawals are not available.

4. Knowing your situation

Every client completes a short questionnaire about their employment, income and the source of the funds they intend to trade with. For larger amounts, or when something needs explaining, we may ask for documents that show where the money comes from, such as payslips, bank statements or a sale contract.

5. Sanctions and politically exposed persons

We check clients against the sanctions lists of the United Nations, the Cayman Islands, the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States, and whether they are politically exposed persons, when the account is opened and again over time. We do not provide services to sanctioned persons or to residents of Restricted Jurisdictions as defined in our Terms of Service.

6. Payments in your own name

Deposits and withdrawals must use payment methods and accounts held in your own name. We do not accept payments from third parties or pay to them. Where possible, money is returned by the method it came in with.

7. Monitoring

We keep an eye on how accounts are used and review deposits, withdrawals and transfers. Every withdrawal and transfer is checked by our payments team before it is paid.

8. When we may refuse or restrict

If we cannot verify your identity or the information you gave us, or if activity looks unusual, we may ask questions, delay or refuse a payment, restrict or close the account, and report the matter to the competent authorities where the law requires it. In some cases the law does not allow us to tell you that a report was made.

9. Keeping records

We keep the documents and records collected under this policy for at least five years after the end of the client relationship, or longer where the law requires it, and handle them as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. What we ask of you

Give accurate information, keep it up to date and tell us when something changes, such as your address or name. Use your account only for yourself and only with your own money.
