Keep your account and funds secure

How to change or reset your Trade Llama password, spot phishing and scams, and keep an eye on your account activity and funds.

The best protection is a strong password that you don't use anywhere else and never share, plus a regular look at your account activity. You can change your password at any time on your Profile page.

Change your password

  1. Log in and open Profile.
  2. Find the password change option.
  3. Set your new password and save it.

If you can't log in, use Forgot password to request a reset link, then set a new password from that link.

Choose a strong password

  • Make it long and hard to guess. A few unrelated words strung together works well.
  • Don't reuse a password from your email, social media or another trading site.
  • A password manager can create and remember strong passwords for you.
  • Don't save it in a note or send it in a message.

Avoid phishing and scams

  • Type the Trade Llama address yourself or use a bookmark, rather than following links in emails or messages.
  • Never share your password or a password reset link with anyone, including people who say they work for Trade Llama.
  • Trade Llama has no live chat. Be wary of anyone who reaches out by chat, social media or phone offering "support" or asking you to move funds.
  • Be wary of offers of copy trading, trading bots or VIP upgrades "on Trade Llama". These aren't available yet.
  • Ignore anyone promising guaranteed profits.

Protect your funds

  • Check recent activity on Dashboard and the transaction history in Wallet regularly.
  • Before a crypto withdrawal, check the destination address carefully. Crypto transfers usually can't be reversed once they're sent.
  • Log out when you finish on a shared or public device.
  • Keep your browser and device up to date.
Protect your email too. If you signed up with email, anyone who gets into your inbox could request a password reset link for your account. Give your email account a strong, unique password as well.

If you think someone else got in

  1. Change your password on Profile right away. If you can't log in, reset it from Forgot password.
  2. Review your Wallet transaction history and Dashboard for activity you don't recognize.
  3. Change the password on your email account if you use it to log in.
