Verify your identity

Check your identity verification (KYC) status on Profile, get tips for completing it, and learn why institutional verification isn't offered.

Identity verification, also called KYC (Know Your Customer), confirms that you are who you say you are. You can see your verification status at any time on your Profile page.

Why verification matters

Verification links your account to you as a real, identified person. That helps protect your account and your funds from fraud and misuse.

Check your verification status

  1. Log in at Log in.
  2. Open Profile.
  3. Find your verification (KYC) status.

Complete verification

If your status shows that verification isn't complete, follow the instructions shown with your status on the Profile page. These tips help it go smoothly:

  • Enter your details exactly as they appear on your official documents, including the spelling of your name and your date of birth.
  • If you're asked for photos of a document, make sure they're clear, in focus, well lit, and show the whole document.
  • Use a document that is valid and not expired.
  • Verify your own account only. Don't verify an account for someone else, and don't let anyone else use yours.
Not the same as the questionnaire: KYC confirms who you are. The suitability questionnaire asks about your trading experience. See The suitability questionnaire.

Institutional verification

Trade Llama doesn't offer institutional or corporate accounts yet, so there's no institutional verification. Institutional services aren't available either.

What you can do instead: open an individual account in your own name for your own trading. Don't use a personal account to trade on behalf of a company or another person. See Products Trade Llama doesn't offer yet for other services that aren't available.

If something goes wrong

If your status says pending or rejected, see Verification is pending or was rejected. If you can't open your Profile page, see Can't log in or something looks wrong with your account.
